Make sure to enter the VIN of the vehicle you are working on when downloading the software update. The software is specific to the year and trim of the vehicle. If the wrong software is installed, the audio unit will be damaged and will need to be replaced. Units damaged by improper updating are not covered by American Honda. I have a 2016 Civic EX-L with Nav. I recently did the map upgrade and no longer get the voice guidance. I checked the voice guidance and it is turned on and volume is up to 11. The music lowers when the speaking is supposed to occur, but no voice comes out. It worked prior to the update. Has anyone experienced this?

The issue seems to arise whenever the phone is connected via USB and you play music via USB instead of bluetooth. If I try switching back to bluetooth after that it will only work for phone calls / voice commands, but will not play music until I forget the car as a bluetooth device and re-pair them together. The system recognizes commands in the Voice Command Index, see Voice Portal Commands. • When using the Talk button, wait for a beep before saying a command. • To bypass the system prompts, simply press the Talk button again to say your command. • Speak in a clear, natural voice. • Reduce all background noise.
