Canggu has 3 bays, stretches 12 kms inland and a very convoluted road system. There are no metered taxis permitted in Canggu needing a private driver to get around locally. Traffic can be very congested. Very important to choose your accommodation location wisely. Your age group probably fits the Canggu scene; popular with surfers, yogis Roosterfish – Pandawa Beach Club. Roosterfish Beach Club is one of the most local and non-pretentious beach clubs in Bali that I’ve been to. It’s down on Pandawa beach surrounded by local places selling nasi goreng and the usual cheap local bites. It’s such a little gem tucked away there. Pererenan is a good 20 minutes drive to Seminyak in good traffic (not peak hour) and is on the road to Tanah Lot. It is past Canggu and Echo Beach, in fact I think it is the next beach after Echo Beach. You will not find any shops there and you will certainly need that car and driver for 12 hours a day.
